I love Sarasota more each day! It’s so exciting to see where my camera will take me in my “still-sorta-new-to-me” home town. I’ve been here 11 months now, so I’m not sure technically when I can say I’m still “new”; but there’s so much to this small town, I keep meeting really cool people and businesses all the time. I had the privilege of photographing an open house for the new organic skincare spa, Starflower Organic Spathecary, downtown Sarasota at 415 S. Pineapple Avenue. Awesome handmade products and incredibly sweet staff and owner, Cherylyn Van Kirk. A highlight of the evening was meeting and photographing 1950s model, actress and author, Terry Moore, who will be 83yrs old in January. She and her assistant of many years, laughed and talked about past memories, such as working with James Dean, Henry Ford and John Wayne. Terry was such a delight and warmed the room with her smile.
